How to reach the School

Local Navigation:

The School of Engineering and Electronics is situated on the King's Buildings campus, which is mid-way between the City Centre and the City Bypass.

By car from the City Bypass:

1. Take the A701 ``Straiton'' exit from the Edinburgh City Bypass (A720).
2. The School occupies buildings on both the east and west sides of the King's Building campus.
   • East side: Main School, IDCOM, IES, IIE, IMP, IMNS(design)
   • West Side: IMNS(fabrication), SMC (Scottish Microelectronics Centre + MIAC)

4. Parking at KB

By Public Transport from the City Centre:

1. Centre of Edinburgh, University sites and route to KB. (also printable bitmaps PS(200k) or PDF(130k).
   
   
2. Those arriving by train (or airport bus) at Edinburgh Waverley have a choice of buses:
   • Catch a ``Lothian'' 3,7,8,29,31,37,47 or X47 bus from the North Bridge to the Craigmillar Park/Lady Road traffic lights (every few minutes). Exact fare only, £1.20. 5 minute walk to KB.
   • Catch a ``Lothian'' 41 bus from the top of the Mound to KB [Scottish Microelectronics Centre] (every 30 mins Monday to Saturdays, no Sunday service). Exact fare only, £1.20.
   • Catch a ``Lothian'' 42 bus from the top of the Mound to West Mains Road (every 30 mins Monday to Saturdays, no late evening or Sunday service ). Exact fare only, £1.20.
   • Catch a ``Lothian'' 67 bus from the top of the Mound to KB [opposite the Sanderson building] (Monday to Fridays, every 20 minutes in the peak and every hour off-peak. No evening or Saturday or Sunday service ). Exact fare only, £1.20.
   • ``Lothian'' buses services 24 and 38 also serve the King's Buildings area.
